How to Pass AWS ANS-C01: Mentor's Guide
The Advanced Networking Specialty is often considered one of the hardest AWS certifications. Here is what you need to focus on:
Hybrid Connectivity
Master AWS Direct Connect (DX) and AWS Site-to-Site VPN. Understand BGP routing, ASNs, Transit Gateway integrations, and DX Gateway architectures thoroughly.
VPC & Routing
Know VPC peering limits, IPv6 addressing, Route 53 (Resolver, Outbound/Inbound endpoints), and complex routing scenarios with Transit Gateway and VPC attachments.
Network Security
Focus on Network Firewall, WAF, Shield Advanced, and Security Group/NACL evaluation logic. Understanding cross-account resource sharing (RAM) is critical.
Scenario-Based Testing
Read the last sentence of every question first. AWS will try to distract you with long scenarios. Look for keywords like "most cost-effective" or "least administrative overhead."
